Sumter Lighting & Home has proudly served the Sumter community since September 8, 2014. Originally established as Sumter Light House in the 1960s, the business was acquired by Stephen Arscott in the Spring of 2006.

After acquiring and renovating the former McKenzie Paint & Decorating building in March 2014, Stephen transformed it into Sumter Lighting & Home. Our new location at 135 W Wesmark Boulevard offers an extensive selection of residential lighting and home décor, continuing a tradition of excellence with over a century of expertise.

Our owner, Stephen Arscott, transitioned into the lighting industry in 2006, bringing a wealth of experience and a keen sense of creativity to his role. Before joining the lighting sector, Stephen had a successful career in banking, where he served as a Branch Manager and Market President for Bank of America.

Stephen and his wife, Melissa Arscott, have called Sumter home since 1998, where they are deeply rooted in the community. Melissa is a dedicated Pediatrician at Sumter Pediatrics, and together, they have three children.

Stephen's passion for lighting design and his commitment to enhancing the beauty and functionality of homes are evident in his work. His approach blends creativity with a deep understanding of client needs, ensuring that every project is both innovative and personalized.

Stephen and Melissa’s strong ties to Sumter and their dedication to their family and community are central to their approach, reflecting a blend of professional excellence and personal commitment.
